• Benzie County roads remain flooded as Betsie River levels drop (manisteenews.com) — Floodwaters from the Betsie River are finally dropping around Honor, but several Benzie County roads — including Lewis, River, Mollineaux, South Shore and Crystal drives — remain flooded or damaged. Officials say there are no dire emergencies, yet warn that more problems may appear as water recedes and urge residents to heed phone alerts and follow updates on the Homestead Dam and local state of emergency. 
• Looking back in Benzie: Railroad thieves arrested (recordpatriot.com) — Plans for the historic M-11 highway once called for rerouting the road through the Platte River Valley to Honor, using part of an abandoned railroad corridor to avoid dangerous hills and curves near Benzonia and Beulah. The same archival piece also recounts a major early-1900s theft ring at the Ann Arbor Railroad railyard, showing how transportation has long shaped life in Benzie County.
