• M-35 rebuilding, roundabout project starts April 27 (miningjournal.net) — Drivers in and around Ishpeming should prepare for major changes on M-35 as MDOT begins a $6.2 million rebuild and new roundabout at County Road 492 starting April 27. Expect tree clearing first, then lane closures and traffic regulators through mid-October while crews reconstruct over three miles of pavement and widen shoulders on this busy truck route.
   

• The Negaunee Male Chorus prepares for concert on May 2 (uppermichiganssource.com) — Ishpeming residents can catch the Negaunee Male Chorus in concert on May 2 at 7 p.m. at W.C. Peterson Auditorium in Ishpeming High School. Tickets are on sale now at several Ishpeming and Negaunee businesses, and the show promises everything from Irish tunes to 1950s favorites to help locals shake off winter and avoid the summer bugs.
   

• Ishpeming man earns chance at $1 million in Michigan Lottery's Millionaire Maker second chance giveaway (miningjournal.net) — An Ishpeming resident, Douglas Niemi, recently traveled to Detroit as one of five finalists in the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker Second Chance giveaway. While he missed out on the $1 million grand prize, he still brought $5,000 back to the U.P. after a tense trip across the Mackinac Bridge that shut down shortly after he crossed.
