• Pallet company fire draws response from more than 20 departments across the Thumb (huroncountyview.com) — A massive fire at the Pallets N More pallet recycling facility in Goodland Township drew firefighters from 11 Lapeer County departments and multiple neighboring counties, with smoke visible from the city of Lapeer. Thousands of pallets, several buildings and trailers burned, power lines were damaged, and crews spent hours containing flames and hot spots as the cause remains under investigation. 
• M-90 lane closure over North Branch Flint River June 10-24 in Lapeer County (michigan.gov) — Drivers in Lapeer County should expect single-lane traffic on M-90 over the North Branch Flint River from June 10-24 while MDOT finishes a $3.5 million improvement project between M-24 and North Branch. A temporary signal will control traffic at the bridge, and officials say the work will boost safety and extend the life of the road and bridge.
