• Livonia's new police headquarters plan fizzles (bnd.com) — Plans for a new Livonia police headquarters are on hold indefinitely, as city leaders say funding options have dried up and construction costs are too high. Officials are now shifting focus to maintaining existing buildings while debating how to eventually replace the cramped, aging Farmington Road station after voters previously rejected a large bond proposal. 
• High school football schedule, Week 3 (detroitnews.com) — Several Livonia high schools are in the spotlight for Week 3 football, with home games at Livonia Stevenson, Livonia Churchill, Livonia Clarenceville, and Livonia Franklin on the schedule. Local fans can catch matchups against Walled Lake Central, White Lake Lakeland, Melvindale, and Farmington, all happening later this week across Metro Detroit.
