• Former Mich. officer acquitted of manslaughter in fatal pursuit crash (police1.com) — A Macomb County jury has acquitted former Warren police officer James Burke of manslaughter and related charges in a 2024 high-speed pursuit crash that killed two men. Jurors decided after brief deliberations that Burke’s actions weren’t criminal, while civil lawsuits from the victims’ families are still pending in the county.
   

• Three Michigan police officers cleared in shooting investigation (knewz.com) — Macomb County residents should know that the sheriff’s department has cleared three officers in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old during a domestic dispute call in Fraser. After reviewing bodycam footage, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the officers’ actions were proper under the law, and the officer who fired the shots is returning to duty.
   

• ‘You made me look like an idiot': New video shows chaotic end in stolen U-Haul chase in Macomb County (clickondetroit.com) — Macomb County deputies released bodycam video showing the dramatic end to a stolen U-Haul chase that began in Clinton Township and ended with a rollover crash after the driver ran a red light in Macomb Township. The 47-year-old driver from Clinton Township was safely pulled from the truck and now faces multiple felony charges, with a competency hearing scheduled in July.
