• Mount Clemens woman sentenced for distributing child porn, prosecutor disappointed with sentence imposed (legalnews.com) — A 30-year-old Mount Clemens woman received five years’ probation, including 60 days in the Macomb County Jail, for distributing child sexually abusive material. Prosecutors had pushed for a 19- to 38-month prison term and say they’re disappointed with the lighter sentence and reviewing their options, while the defendant must register as a Tier II sex offender and forfeit involved devices. 
• Former Mich. officer acquitted of manslaughter in fatal pursuit crash (police1.com) — A Macomb County jury in Mount Clemens acquitted former Warren police officer James Burke of manslaughter and related charges in a 2024 high-speed pursuit crash that killed two men in Warren. Prosecutors argued Burke’s 100-plus mph speed was criminally negligent, while the defense blamed the intoxicated driver of the other vehicle; civil lawsuits from the victims’ families are still pending.
