• Local Leps: Area grads help Royal Oak team win first Northwoods League Championship (theoaklandpress.com) — A Lake Orion pitcher, Jackson Gilbert, helped the Royal Oak Leprechauns capture their first Northwoods League championship, contributing wins alongside other Oakland County standouts. The summer league team, led by former MLB star DJ LeMahieu, leaned heavily on metro Detroit high school and college talent in a dominant second half that ended with a 3-1 title-clinching victory.
