📰 News we're reading
• This Week in Northeast Michigan History: Oct. 12-18 (upnorthvoice.com) — For Oscoda residents, the most striking item here recalls 2017 efforts to extend municipal water lines to homes affected by PFAS contamination from the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base, highlighting how officials sought bank financing to protect private well users. The broader feature also revisits historical moments across Oscoda, Iosco, Roscommon, Crawford, Ogemaw, and Arenac counties, from early newspapers to fairs and local businesses that helped shape Northeast Michigan.
