• Former court administrator's sentencing rescheduled (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — A former Paw Paw resident who once oversaw Van Buren County’s specialty and trial courts has had her sentencing for embezzling more than $100,000 rescheduled. Rachel Celeste Lindley previously managed major treatment court grants and helped launch programs like Sobriety Court and Family Reunification Court before a Michigan State Police investigation led to felony charges. 
• Ron E. Smith (wsjm.com) — Paw Paw residents are mourning the passing of 79-year-old Ronald E. Smith, a longtime community member who died peacefully at home on April 13. He is survived by his wife Henrietta, daughter Paula of Paw Paw, several children and grandchildren across the country, and was entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, with cremation and no services planned at this time.
