PLYMOUTH, MI — A beloved Plymouth corned beef restaurant is reopening under new ownership next week.
Bode's Corned Beef House will reopen its original location on Main Street near Theodore Street next Monday, the owners said in a Facebook post.
"We worked hard to complete all the updates as quickly as possible because we know how important this place is to so many of you. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back," the owners said in the post.

Bode's, which is best known for its corned beef sandwiches and fish fry dinners, closed last December after the original owners said the building was sold to a new company, who then hiked the rent.
"They wanted more than I could afford," previous owner David Mueller told Hometown Life. "Two weeks later, they gave me an eviction notice. I was shocked. Stunned. I just had a good cry last night. It's been pretty crazy."

The new owners said they purchased the building and the business, and hold full rights to the Bode’s Corned Beef House brand. They commented on the post that the menu is "still classic American diner favorites with a few fresh updates." They also said the restaurant is reopening with a full renovation and deep cleaning, as it was "overdue for updates."
"We have put great care and effort into preserving the character, culture, and legacy of Bode’s while improving the space so it can continue serving the community for years to come," the new owners said.
Bode's will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
