• Utica cruises past Stevenson; Armada, Richmond split; Lake Shore, Marine City prevail (macombdaily.com) — Richmond High’s softball team split a BWAC doubleheader with Armada, taking the opener 11-7 before falling 16-5 in a five-inning rematch. The roundup also highlights strong performances from Utica, Lake Shore, Marine City, Anchor Bay, Marysville and several tennis and golf teams across Macomb and surrounding counties. 
• School district prepares to tear down Haggerty Elementary School (bellevilleareaindependent.com) — A Richmond-based company, RMD Holdings/Nationwide Construction Group, won the fencing contract as Van Buren Public Schools prepares to demolish Haggerty Elementary and secure the site. The board also reviewed hazardous materials abatement plans, approved new bonds and Chromebooks, and handled a long list of staff retirements, resignations, and hires, plus promoted a Belleville-area fundraiser for the Class of 2026.
