(planetdetroit.org) — River Rouge residents just heard how a $100-million Clean Air Act judgment over Zug Island pollution could fund $20 million in local air-quality projects, guided by a new community committee. At an April 11 meeting at River Rouge High School, attorneys urged neighbors to stay involved as DTE appeals and seeks to delay pollution controls. Youth leaders also shared ideas for health, housing, and wellness investments nearby. 
• RX Kids program continues to expand (thenewsherald.com) — River Rouge families are specifically named among those expected to benefit from the expanding Rx Kids cash-aid program for pregnant women and newborns in Wayne County. The initiative, already running in Flint and now rolling out in select Wayne County cities, offers a $1,500 prenatal payment plus $500 per month for six months after birth. Local parents can apply online to see if their community is included.
