Volunteers deliver food, resources to Oakland County seniors on World Alzheimer's Day (cbsnews.com) — Rochester seniors are receiving 1,350 boxes of fresh food and Alzheimer's education resources thanks to a World Alzheimer's Day service project based at Rochester Christian University. Students and community partners delivered boxes across Rochester, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Pontiac, combining healthy produce, salmon and recipes with brain health information to support vulnerable older residents.

Wasps showing up in bigger numbers across metro Detroit this fall, experts say (wxyz.com) — Rochester residents are seeing more wasps this fall, with large nests turning up at local spots like Rochester Cider Mill and in neighborhood trees. Oakland County man wins $1 million after clerk suggests Ruby 7s ticket (detroitnews.com) — A 62-year-old Oakland County man won a $1 million Ruby 7s prize after buying his ticket at the Speedway on South Rochester Road in Rochester. He chose a lump-sum payout of about $693,000 and plans to buy a house, fund his kids' college accounts, and enjoy some of the remaining windfall.
   

4. Par Health Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Two Lots of Dexmedetomidine HCl in 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection Due to the Presence of Particulate Matter (fda.gov) — A Rochester-based company, Par Health, has issued a nationwide recall of two lots of Dexmedetomidine HCl in 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection because of particulate matter that could cause serious blood vessel or lung complications. Local hospitals and pharmacies are being told to stop using the affected lots immediately and arrange returns while monitoring for any adverse reactions.
