• Shelby Township woman faces animal torture charges after dog rescued from West Bank is found starving (wxyz.com) — A dog rescued from the West Bank is now recovering at the Detroit Animal Welfare Group in Romeo after Shelby Township police allegedly found him severely underweight and abandoned. Macomb County prosecutors say they’re pursuing serious animal torture and abandonment charges against the dog’s former adopter, with a court hearing set for April 28. Romeo residents may see renewed focus on DAWG’s work and local animal welfare enforcement.

Both Romeo teams are off to strong MAC Red starts, with soccer logging its third shutout and baseball improving to 8-2 overall. Local fans get plenty to cheer about this spring.
