• Storm-related fire damages South Haven business (wsjm.com) — High winds Wednesday evening toppled trees and sparked a fire at Haven Heating and Cooling in South Haven Township, one of eight storm-related calls handled by South Haven Area Emergency Services. Firefighters contained the blaze to the attic, and no injuries were reported, with help from Covert Township Fire, South Haven Police, and the Board of Public Works as storms continued through the night.
   

• Lake Michigan College offering summer gardening classes (wsjm.com) — Home gardeners in South Haven can sign up for Lake Michigan College’s new summer gardening classes at the South Haven campus hoop house, running evenings June 25, July 16, and August 6. Led by an MSU Extension educator, each $15 session focuses on real-time pest, disease, weed, and nutrient issues as the garden changes through the season, with registration available online.
   

• ‘Silence the Violence' events planned across Michigan for Gun Violence Prevention month (clickondetroit.com) — South Haven residents can look ahead to a June 27 “Silence the Violence” presence at South Haven Pride in Stanley Johnston Park, where Moms Demand/Be SMART Kalamazoo will host a gun-safety table. The statewide campaign marks Gun Violence Prevention Month with rallies, trainings, and community events focused on safe storage, remembrance, and resources for families across Michigan.
