• Metro Detroit doctor went 2 months without pay due to a billing error. Here's what BCBS said. (arcpublishing.com) — A longtime allergist whose main practice is in St. Clair Shores went nearly two months without more than $200,000 in Blue Cross Blue Shield payments after a credentialing error, forcing her to borrow money to keep the office open. After media inquiries, Blue Cross says hundreds of claims were reprocessed and payments should arrive this week, though the doctor still worries other local physicians may face similar problems. 
• Chinese national sentenced for operating trafficking ring in Michigan massage parlors (cbsnews.com) — A human trafficking ringleader who owned 111 Healing Studio in St. Clair Shores has been sentenced to 40 months to 20 years in prison, after authorities rescued multiple women from forced sex work. State investigators say the operation spanned Macomb and Wayne counties, and Michigan's attorney general is urging residents to report suspected trafficking through a confidential national hotline.
