• Case advances against White Lake man accused of stabbing his wife; jail file shows hold for ICE (theoaklandpress.com) — A White Lake Township resident is facing a possible trial in Oakland County Circuit Court after being accused of seriously stabbing his wife at their Mead Lane home in January. A district judge reduced the original charge but ordered the case to advance, and the suspect remains jailed on a high bond with an immigration hold noted in jail records. Local police say the couple’s child called 911 during the incident. 
• Volunteer coach headed to prison for sex crimes against teenager (theoaklandpress.com) — A 21-year-old volunteer coach connected with Clifford Smart Middle School in Commerce Township, part of Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, has been sentenced to 5–15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Waterford Township. The district says the incident did not occur on school property but has barred him from all school grounds and activities, while he awaits transfer from Oakland County Jail to state prison.
