Cider Mills in Michigan: Hot Donuts and Fresh Cider Daily at Long’s in Commerce Township

The Cider Mill at Long Family Orchard & Farm in Commerce Township is open every day this fall, and you don't need a ticket to walk in. Hours are 9am to 7pm, Fridays from 7am, through Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, Nov. 25). It's closed Thanksgiving Day, and then it's closed for the season.

Same family, same farm, since 1876: this is the Longs' 150th fall on Commerce Road. The cider is pressed right in the barn from the farm's own apples, and the cider donuts come out hot all day. Donuts come up in their Google reviews more than anything else. One Google reviewer summed up a visit: "Very tasty cider and a great place to pick up pumpkins for Halloween."

What's in the barn:

• Fresh-pressed apple cider, by the gallon or by the cup
• Hot cider donuts in cinnamon sugar, made all day
• Cider slushes
• Already-picked Michigan apples, with varieties changing through the fall
• Pure honey in glass jars, jams and apple butter
• Breads and homemade treats
• Pre-picked pumpkins out front, plus Bobby Long's mums, grown on the farm, when they're ready
