Fischbach, a former lieutenant governor and the first woman to serve as president of the Minnesota Senate, has called agriculture her top priority. She points to her work preserving the 199A deduction, expanding the estate tax exemption, delisting the gray wolf and adding year-round E15 to the Farm Bill. Her priorities include passing the Farm Bill and helping root out fraud involving federal dollars in Minnesota, and she has signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge.

Where Osberg stands

Osberg, who grew up in rural Minnesota and works as Otter Tail County's Rural Rebound Initiative coordinator, has worked in finance, the trades and as a small business owner. His priorities include defending the Constitution and restoring accountability, getting big money out of politics and protecting rural hospitals and clinics while lowering prescription costs. He says he does not accept corporate PAC money.

The district covers most of rural western Minnesota, including Moorhead, Willmar, Alexandria and Fergus Falls. The winner will begin a two-year term in January. All results are unofficial until they are certified by the State Canvassing Board.
