• Northwest Tech in Bemidji locked down after student made gun comments (kaxe.org) — A lockdown at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji on Wednesday followed reports of an upset student entering a classroom and saying they needed a gun. Bemidji police and other local agencies quickly located the student, used de-escalation techniques, found no immediate physical threat, and had the person taken to Sanford Health-Bemidji for psychiatric evaluation while the investigation continues. 
• Bulldogs baseball sweeps doubleheader in Bemidji (duluthnewstribune.com) — Bemidji baseball fans saw Bemidji State push Minnesota Duluth to the limit Thursday, but the Beavers ultimately dropped both games of a home doubleheader at BSU. UMD’s bats powered seven home runs across the twin bill, while a late Bemidji rally in the opener and multiple lead changes in the nightcap kept the games tight throughout.
• Cass County Board: Commissioners receive Health, Human and Veteran Services annual report (brainerddispatch.com) — Cass County’s latest health and human services report highlights partnerships with employment agencies in Bemidji and Brainerd to help families find work, housing, child care and transportation. The department also detailed mental health staffing changes, opioid-response efforts, emergency preparedness drills, and upcoming staffing needs tied to new state child welfare laws, all aimed at better serving residents across the region.
