Cottage Grove Planning Commission hear plans for proposed 2.3-megawatt solar garden (cottagegrovejournal.news) — A proposed solar garden near Manning Avenue and 90th Street would put panels on about 21.6 acres of Cottage Grove farmland beside an existing installation. New Horizon Energy is seeking exceptions to property-line setbacks, drawing a commissioner's safety question. City Council consideration is scheduled for Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

Mayor invites public input on comprehensive plan update (cottagegrovejournal.news) — Cottage Grove residents will have a chance to help shape where housing, roads, parks and businesses go as the city updates its comprehensive plan. Mayor Myron Bailey is encouraging public input on the long-term growth guide, though dates and locations for participation have not yet been announced.
   

3. Men's HCA October Honors Are Announced (hockeycommissioners.com) — Cottage Grove's Nick Pierre earned runner-up recognition for the Men's Hockey Commissioners Association's October Forward of the Month award. The Merrimack junior recorded eight goals and four assists in eight games, putting him among the players recognized behind winner Jayden Perron of Michigan.
   

4. 3M's PFAS Deal Promises Cash, But Not Clean Water, For Wisconsin Families (urbanmilwaukee.com) — 3M, which began making PFAS in Cottage Grove in 1947, has announced a $7.35 billion settlement addressing personal injury claims tied to PFAS-containing firefighting foam. The company admits no wrongdoing, and the agreement excludes cleanup and property damage claims, leaving Wisconsin families described in the report still seeking safe water.
