Adults can complete sponsor bingo cards for prize drawings, families can enjoy kidsā activities and health-and-wellness offerings, and area groups from Cottage Grove, Newport, and St. Paul Park will be on hand to connect with neighbors.

2. SoWashCo School Board reviews community survey at April 9 workshop (cottagegrovejournal.news) ā South Washington County Schools leaders met at the District Service Center in Cottage Grove on April 9 to review new community survey results, facility pressures, and nutrition services challenges. Residents and parents reported strong trust in district leadership but growing concern over class sizes, property taxes, and space needs. Policy updates and a transition program renaming were previewed ahead of a key April 23 board meeting, also in Cottage Grove.

3. Semi truck driver was looking at GPS on phone before fatal crash, charges say (kare11.com) ā A fatal March 2025 crash just east of Cottage Grove has led to criminal vehicular homicide charges against a semi-truck driver accused of looking at his phone and GPS. Investigators say phone records show he was using navigation apps and making a call moments before striking a pickup at Highway 95 and 70th Street. The pickup driver later died at the hospital, and the case is now moving through Washington County courts.

4. Grey Cloud weighs ordinance changes at April 8 town board New plan commissioner sworn in (cottagegrovejournal.news) ā Grey Cloud Island Township leaders recently debated road changes, hunting restrictions near homes, and accessory building rules in a meeting that also referenced Cottage Groveās shoreline hunting limits for comparison. Both the nuisance and zoning ordinance updates were tabled for more research, while a new plan commissioner was sworn in and residents were urged to stay involved in long-range planning and local cleanups.
