UMD students facing 4.6% cost increase (duluthnewstribune.com) — UMD students are staring at a 4.6% overall cost jump, with tuition, fees, room, board, and parking all set to rise if the University of Minnesota’s proposed 2027 budget is approved. Regents are reviewing the plan now, with a final vote expected June 26. The budget also calls for millions in cuts and potential position eliminations across campuses, including Duluth.

Bones' next step: Grandma's Marathon champ inspired to make new home, career in Duluth (northernnewsnow.com) — A former Grandma’s Marathon champion has put down roots in Duluth, trading professional racing for an HVAC career helping Twin Ports residents stay warm. Boniface “Bones” Kongin now lives and works in Hermantown but still feels deeply connected to the local running community. This year he’ll be cheering along the course as Grandma’s celebrates its 50th running on June 20.

The Prioritize Conference with Pastor Troy Bohn (life973.com) — Local residents are invited to a June 12–14 Prioritize Conference that mixes worship services with hands-on outreach, including Saturday afternoon evangelism in Duluth. With meals, teaching sessions, and street and homeless ministry, the weekend aims to deepen faith while serving neighbors across Superior and Duluth.
