• Frozen soil forcing delayed reopening of Braemar ice rink (kstp.com) — Edina's Braemar Arena east rink won't reopen until Jan. 1 after crews discovered deep frozen soil, tightening already scarce ice time for local hockey teams. City staff and the Edina Hockey Association say they're scrambling to relocate skaters and expand ice time on remaining sheets while the $45 million renovation continues. Residents can track construction progress and updates through the Better Together Edina website. 
• One year after Annunciation Catholic school shooting, Archbishop Hebda calls on faithful to be 'beacons of light' (americamagazine.org) — Edina residents recently joined more than 300 people at a gathering reflecting on last year's tragic shooting at Annunciation School and Church in Minneapolis, where Archbishop Hebda urged attendees to be "beacons of light." As the one-year mark approaches, he's encouraging people across the Twin Cities to honor the victims through prayer and acts of service, including a Minneapolis remembrance event at Pearl Park. His message stresses choosing peace and community support even amid ongoing grief.
