• Willis Lake drawdown to be completed by July 4 (mankatofreepress.com) — Residents near Elysian should know that the DNR is lowering Willis Lake by three feet through winter to improve water quality and wildlife habitat, with work expected to wrap up by July 4. Located between Elysian and Janesville, the shallow lake drains into Elysian Lake, so the drawdown aims to freeze out invasive carp and boost beneficial aquatic plants.
