• Fast times, podium spots for area athletes (pineknotnews.com) — Esko track and field athletes made a strong showing at the Class A state meet, with hurdler and jumper Ben Schmitz earning third in the 110 hurdles and a podium in long jump. Maya Johnson medaled in both shot put and discus, while distance runner Naiya Ruuska anchored relays and took fourth in the 800, highlighting a standout performance for Esko within a strong Carlton County contingent.

• Historical society has new director (pineknotnews.com) — Carlton County’s historical society has a new director, and Esko families were among those enjoying the first public event under their leadership at the “Get Cranky” ice cream social in Cloquet. New director Thomlin Swan plans to build on recent growth, expand partnerships with local history groups, and keep archives and community programming vibrant for residents across the county, including Esko.
