• Coon Rapids, Fridley get federal grants for police departments (hometownsource.com) — Fridley's police department is receiving about $13,100 in federal grant money, approved by the City Council, to restock less-lethal munitions and strengthen officer safety options. Partnering with Coon Rapids and Anoka County, Fridley will also serve as fiscal agent for nearly $27,700 in shared Justice Department funding aimed at filling equipment gaps and improving public safety operations.
