United Way Announces $20,000 in Funding for Local Dodge County Programs (dodgecentermn.com) — Kasson-area families will see a boost in local support as United Way directs $20,000 to Dodge County programs, including Kasson-Mantorville Care and Share’s hardship fund and Semcac’s Kasson Contact Center. The money will help residents stay housed, access transportation, and find mental health and support services through several community partners serving Kasson and nearby towns.

2. Mantorville family out more than $1,000 after Kasson daycare abruptly closes amid fraud charges (kttc.com) — A Kasson daycare, Creative Stars Academy, abruptly closed in May, leaving a Mantorville family out more than $1,000 in deposits and prepaid tuition and still being billed for care never received. The Kasson center now sits abandoned amid an eviction order, while the former operator faces federal wire fraud charges tied to multiple childcare sites and parents scramble for alternative care and refunds.

3. Utilities propose massive upgrades to electric lines in Southeast Minnesota (postbulletin.com) — Kasson residents just hosted two public meetings on a massive multistate power-line project that could reshape how electricity flows through southern Minnesota. Utilities say the proposed 765-kilovolt lines would improve grid reliability and move renewable energy, while local landowners are already checking how potential routes might affect their farms and neighborhoods before final decisions in 2028.

Meet the 2026 Strib Varsity All-Minnesota baseball team (startribune.com) — One of Minnesota’s top high school baseball honors this year goes to Kasson-Mantorville senior Grady Babcock, recognized on the Strib Varsity All-Minnesota team.
