• Open house planned as Lakeville explores hosting $1 billion horticultural expo in 2031 (bringmethenews.com) — Lakeville is being considered to host a massive $1 billion international horticultural expo in 2031, and city leaders want your input. A public open house at Lakeville City Hall on Oct. 21 will explore plans for a six‑month event that could bring millions of visitors and permanent amenities like a convention center, amphitheater, gardens, and hotel near I‑35W and County Road 70.
   

• Class 4A volleyball powerhouses give and take (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville South and Lakeville North volleyball teams are at the center of a high‑level Class 4A battle, trading wins and losses with rival Eagan in tournament and conference play. South's long winning streak ended in a five‑set thriller, while North placed fifth in the elite Eagle Invitational, keeping Lakeville firmly in the state volleyball spotlight heading into October.
   

• Justine Marie Mills (dodgecountypionier.com) — Longtime Lakeville resident Justine Marie Mills, who moved to the city with her husband Hank in 1987 and later retired there, has died at age 93. Remembered for her nursing career, volunteer service, strong Lutheran faith, and work with Loaves and Fishes in the Twin Cities, she was recently laid to rest in her hometown of Horicon, Wisconsin.
