ā¢ Augie Baseball drops another close game at Mankato (dakotanewsnow.com) ā Minnesota Stateās baseball team topped Augustana 4ā1 at Mankatoās Bowyer Field, with the Mavericks doing most of their damage in the first and fifth innings. Augustanaās late rally fell short despite loading the bases twice, while several Viking pitchers and hitters turned in solid individual performances ahead of their next home doubleheader on April 22.

ā¢ Dr. Francis Thomas HannickMarch 2, 1944 ā April 4, 2026 (thedailyworld.com) ā Mankato readers are remembering Dr. Francis Hannick, who taught mathematics and statistics at Minnesota State University in Mankato before retiring in 2018. The longtime educator, born and raised in Washington state, died April 4 at his home in Tumwater. Services and memorial details are being held in Washington, where his family and tree farm legacy remain centered. Ā Ā Ā
