Longtime Fox 9 Anchor Announces Departure

The anchor said she's stepping away after 11 years, sharing the news in a handwritten note to viewers.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Fox 9 anchor Amy Hockert says she is leaving the station after 11 years, according to a handwritten note she posted on social media Friday.

Hockert, who hosts Fox 9's streaming program All Day Live and anchors the station's 5 p.m. newscast, wrote that she took time away from social media and news feeds to think about where she is and where she wants to be. She said the break was awesome and helped her decide it was time to see what else she can do, in news or out of it.

"I'm leaving Fox9 extremely grateful for 11 years of friendship and opportunity," Hockert wrote, thanking viewers who watched or reached out over the years and the people she has interviewed for their trust.
