• Researcher: Today's gangs look different, but why kids join hasn't changed (newsbreak.com) — Minnetonka families should know that two teens were shot outside Eden Prairie High School's homecoming football game against Minnetonka, forcing the stadium to be cleared, in what police believe is gang-related violence. Officials say newer, social-media-driven gangs are fueling recent Twin Cities shootings, and experts urge more mentoring, jobs, and coordinated law enforcement-community efforts to steer youth away from these groups.
• Five Minnesotans Among USTA Northern's 2026 Award Recipients, Four Selected for Hall of Fame (limitless-news.com) — Minnetonka residents can cheer on local author and journalist Sheri Brenden, who just earned USTA Northern's Bob Larson Media Excellence Award for her work highlighting girls' access to sports. She's one of five Minnesotans honored this year for advancing tennis through sportsmanship, community service, officiating, development, and storytelling across the region.
