ā¢ Welk recognized for 25 years of service to Monticello schools (hometownsource.com) ā Monticelloās School Board has honored longtime social worker and current student services director Sarah Welk for 25 years of dedicated service to local students and families. Starting at Monticello Middle School in 2001, she helped expand mental health, family support, and districtwide services that connect schools, homes, and community agencies to better support kidsā success.

ā¢ After heated debate, energy committee rejects DFL omnibus bill (mn.gov) ā State lawmakers are clashing over an energy omnibus bill that includes funding for a study on new nuclear power plants, partly financed through the Renewable Development Account. That account is funded by fees Xcel pays to store nuclear waste at its Prairie Island and Monticello plants, so any changes could indirectly affect how energy policy and nuclear operations tied to Monticello evolve.
