• EDA approves use of childcare facility (pipestonestar.com) — Pipestone’s Economic Development Authority has approved a childcare incubator application allowing Rhonda Van De Brake to open a daycare in the remodeled former Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, pending her state license. She’ll pay reduced rent and receive a forgivable loan for equipment and startup costs, aiming to serve 10 children in a space designed specifically for family childcare.
   

• Carnegie Library repair bid higher than expected (pipestonestar.com) — Pipestone’s City Council has delayed accepting a lone $288,000 bid to repair the historic Carnegie Library’s east wall because it’s higher than expected and leaves a funding gap. Officials are exploring help from the Pipestone Area Community Foundation while also needing to address a long-postponed roof replacement and awaiting word on a separate $500,000 federal funding request.
