UPDATE: Roseau Memorial Arena Project Needs Addressed (kq92.com) — Roseau officials are racing to finish Memorial Arena roof work in time to keep a $250,000 grant while also planning a costly replacement of the aging ice plant. Engineers are weighing several refrigeration system designs, each with major price and safety tradeoffs. The council may need to choose a direction by mid-October to keep the 2027 ice season on track.
   

2. Roseau Elementary fourth-graders post second highest participation in 2024-25 MCA reading test (nwminnesotanews.com) — Roseau Elementary’s fourth-graders posted the second-highest participation rate statewide on the 2024-25 MCA reading test, with 48% reaching proficiency. Overall, 336 Roseau students in grades 3–6 took the reading exam, with proficiency improving by grade. The data, from the Minnesota Department of Education, comes as statewide scores remain below pre-pandemic levels.
   

3. Sports Thursday, June 11, 2026 (wild102.com) — Roseau’s own Maryn Byfuglien improved from a 90 to an 83 on day two of tournament play, climbing into a tie for 42nd place. Other area golfers and the Gator girls team also wrapped up strong finishes. The roundup closes with quick updates on state baseball action and recent MLB, NBA, and NHL results.
   

4. Minnesota tribe returns airplane seven months after seizure (aopa.org) — A Roseau-based pilot finally got his airplane back seven months after it was seized following an emergency landing near Red Lake during a flight from Roseau to Bemidji. With help from AOPA attorneys and federal outreach, the Red Lake Nation agreed to return the aircraft without charges. The case has sparked wider debate over tribal authority versus federal control of airspace.
