• Irish win a walk-off thriller, lose a rain-delayed game (arlingtonmnnews.com) — A recent amateur baseball showdown saw the Green Isle Irish edge Waconia 9–8 with a dramatic two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth, capped by a walk-off run on a wild pitch. Earlier, Waconia had surged ahead with a three-run top of the inning, but Green Isle answered back, then later dropped a rain-delayed matchup against the Carver Black Sox.
   

• Joyce Hoof, 91, Obituary – 5/22/2026 (glencoenews.com) — Waconia readers may remember Joyce Ann (Thaemert) Hoof, who grew up locally, attended school in Waconia, and graduated from Waconia High School in 1952. The longtime homemaker and church member, most recently of Norwood Young America, is being remembered by her husband, children, and extended family at services today in Norwood Young America.
