• Wayzata Council approves utility franchise fee Increases to offset property taxes (hometownsource.com) — Wayzata’s City Council has approved higher franchise fees on Xcel Energy and a new CenterPoint Energy franchise and fee, aiming to reduce pressure on local property taxes. City leaders say the changes will shift how revenue is collected for maintaining utility right‑of‑ways, bringing Wayzata’s fees closer to neighboring cities while generating about $155,000 in additional annual revenue by 2027.
   

• `Trojan girls make a statement in win over Knights (hometownsource.com) — Wayzata High’s girls soccer team has earned the top seed in the Section 6AAA playoffs and will open at home Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Despite major injuries, the Trojans finished 11-1-3 and have allowed only five goals all season, giving local fans strong hope for a deep postseason run.
