Witnesses described call patterns, a family friend’s contact with a municipal judge, and emotional jail conversations, with more testimony expected as the high-profile local case continues.
   

• Shrimpers report week of empty nets (wlox.com) — Bay St. Louis shrimpers are struggling this week as shrimp vanish from local waters just as fuel costs soar about 40% over last year, squeezing already thin margins. Many blame a flood of imported shrimp and are pinning hopes on the federal Save Our Shrimpers Act, now stalled in the Senate. Without relief, some captains warn more local boats may tie up for good.
   

• Jeepin' the Coast Takes Over Long Beach (thegazebogazette.com) — Jeepin’ the Coast just wrapped up after filling Long Beach, Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, and the rest of the Coast with thousands of customized Jeeps and spectators. While Long Beach hosted the main events, Bay St. Louis residents saw plenty of parade traffic and visiting Jeepers, and organizers have already set next year’s dates for June 2–6, 2027.
