• Black Family Sets Record for Oldest Living Siblings (theroot.com) — A Hattiesburg family just made global history: the eight Davis siblings have been certified by Guinness World Records with a combined age topping 721 years. Raised near William Carey University and educated at historic DePriest Consolidated High School, they credit strong parents, community involvement, and resilience through segregation and the Great Depression for their remarkable longevity and ongoing community service.
• Pathway Home prepares inmates for life after prison (wjtv.com) — In Hattiesburg, the Pathway Home Five Re-Entry Program is working with incarcerated men to change thinking patterns, build job skills, and prepare for life after prison. Through 12-week courses, Moral Reconation Therapy, and up to a year of follow-up support, staff help graduates see themselves as more than a DOC number and successfully reenter South Mississippi communities.
