1. Jackson man arrested on domestic violence, child neglect charges after... (onlinemadison.com) — Ridgeland police arrested a Jackson man after a tense attic standoff at a Woodland Springs Drive home, where officers rescued a two-year-old child following a reported domestic assault. The suspect faces domestic violence, child neglect, and assault-on-officer charges and is being held at the Madison County Detention Center. Neighbors were drawn in when the victim fled next door for help. 
2. First appointee to Metro Jackson Water Authority board could be introduced next week (wlbt.com) — Ridgeland’s mayor is preparing to name the city’s representative to the new Metro Jackson Water Authority board, which will eventually oversee Jackson’s water and sewer systems. The nine-member board must be appointed by May 1 and will include one member each from Ridgeland and Byram, alongside appointees from Jackson and state leaders, shaping how regional water issues are managed.
3. Lady Vikes bring home Region 2-6A track championship (vicksburgpost.com) — Ridgeland High’s girls track team pushed Warren Central to the wire in the Region 2-6A meet, finishing just 14 points back and winning the final 4x400 relay. Ridgeland also hosted the boys’ meet, where the Titans placed third and several athletes advanced to North State competition.
4. 2026 Mississippi Pinnacle Award Winners Announced at April 14 Gala (hubcityspokes.com) — Ridgeland is on the statewide stage as the Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter, based in the city, earns the Charlie Holt Business Award at the 2026 Mississippi Pinnacle Awards. The Hattiesburg gala honored standout marketing, business, and community leaders from across Mississippi and helps fund scholarships for students pursuing sales and marketing careers.
