Mayor Thompson announces over $47 million in state funding for Vicksburg and Warren County (vicksburgnews.com) ā Vicksburg is set to receive more than $47 million in state funding for major projects, from road repairs on Clay and Washington streets to a new Military Park interpretive center and tourism upgrades. Mayor Thompson says the money will boost safety, economic growth, and quality of life without adding financial burdens on residents.

Amazon Announces $12B in Mississippi Projects (inddist.com) ā Vicksburg is in line for a share of Amazonās massive $12 billion Mississippi investment, with the company previously outlining a $3 billion project here alongside major expansions in Madison County and Clinton. State and local officials are backing the data-center and factory projects, which together are expected to create hundreds of jobs and long-term tech infrastructure across central Mississippi.

4. Back at the Capitol with nothing to show for it: Legislature fails to override Gov. Reeves' vetoes (desotocountynews.com) ā Vicksburg residentsā own Rep. Oscar Denton was on the House floor Wednesday as lawmakers failed in a rare attempt to override several of Gov. Tate Reevesā vetoes. The stalemate, driven by Senate Democrats protesting a blocked rural health oversight bill, leaves youth courts in limbo and several local and statewide projects, addiction funding, and restoration initiatives without expected support.
