• Affton freshman plays for U.S. in international baseball tournament (callnewspapers.com) — An Affton High School freshman, Aiden Hernandez, spent part of his summer representing a U.S. team in an international baseball tournament in the Dominican Republic, gaining experience against highly trained peers. After previously not making the squad, he earned a catcher's spot, helped his team to a 2–3 record, and built friendships with players from different cultures.
