• New state laws are taking effect on Friday (bransontrilakesnews.com) — Several new Missouri laws taking effect Friday include one sponsored by Sen. Mary Elizabeth Coleman of Arnold that restores the state's tiered sex offender registry and sets when offenders can seek removal. Other measures tighten penalties for drunk driving and passing school buses, raise rural interstate speed limits, create new alerts and ADA-related programs, and expand economic development and education initiatives statewide.
