The longtime Joplin company supplied primary power and safety systems, showcasing high-tech jobs and aerospace expertise based right here in southwest Missouri.

2. One Joplin will launch a four-year health and wellness initiative (koamnewsnow.com) — A new four-year Thrive Joplin Project is rolling out to tackle health, housing, transportation, and other wellness challenges across Joplin and nearby communities like Webb City and Carl Junction. Backed by more than 150 organizations and extensive local surveys and focus groups, the plan aims to remove key barriers to health and bring more underrepresented voices into regional decision-making.

3. Ryan Jackson social media comments on tap for Joplin City Council Monday (blogspot.com) — Joplin residents can weigh in Monday as City Council tackles trash service contracts, major 7th Street sewer and lighting projects, and a new Active Transportation and Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan. The agenda also includes housing agreements, budget adjustments, annexation and rezoning proposals, new police vehicles, and a scheduled discussion of Ryan Jackson’s recent social media and TV comments.

4. Joplin Baseball Earns the Victory Over Pittsburg at Home (fourstateshomepage.com) — Joplin High School’s baseball team rolled to a 13-2 win over Pittsburg in a game moved from Kansas to Joplin because of field conditions. Pitcher Brecken Green racked up seven strikeouts, and the Eagles broke the game open with late-inning offense after both teams traded early runs.

5. Historic T-33 fighter jet goes on display at Joplin Airport (fourstateshomepage.com) — A newly restored T-33 Shooting Star fighter jet is now on public display at Joplin Airport and will eventually anchor a planned Veterans Honor Park near Highway 171 and Dennis Weaver Drive. The Freedom of Flight Museum spent significant effort sourcing original parts and authentic paint, and organizers are still raising funds to complete the park that will honor local veterans.
