County officials also approved reshuffling courthouse office space ahead of creating a standalone Recorder of Deeds office and agreed to boost the county’s contribution toward employee health insurance premiums. 
• Thomas Christie 2010-2026 (gasconadecountyrepublican.com) — Owensville is mourning 15-year-old Thomas Lee Christie, an Owensville High School student and First Baptist Church member who passed away May 29 in St. Louis. Remembered for his love of baseball, bowling, music, and collectible cards, he is survived by his mother and several siblings, with services held at Gottenstroeter Chapel and arrangements through Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
• Four diamond Dutchmen earn postseason honors from FRC, district coaches (gasconadecountyrepublican.com) — Owensville Dutchmen baseball fans can celebrate four players earning postseason recognition from both district and Four Rivers Conference coaches after a strong season. Seniors Chase Weirich and Chris Allen and sophomores Tucker Sassmann and Gabe Medlock led OHS in key hitting and pitching stats, joining standout players from neighboring FRC schools on all-conference teams.
