Rolla Officer Shoots Man During Early-Morning Disturbance Call (hoodline.com) — An early-morning police call on Forum Drive in Rolla ended with an officer shooting a man, who is now hospitalized in stable condition. The officer is on administrative leave while the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigates, and Rolla Police policies outline how the internal review and oversight process will proceed.
   

2. Missouri S&T to offer new degree in biochemistry (mst.edu) — Missouri S&T in Rolla is moving forward with a new bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, designed to prepare students for booming biotechnology and biomedical careers. The program, now approved by the UM Board of Curators and awaiting state higher-education approval, will feature interdisciplinary coursework, hands-on lab experience, and an entrepreneurial focus tailored to in-demand science jobs.

4. Man who was shot by Rolla police faces weapon, assault charges (tncontentexchange.com) — A man shot by Rolla police during a Wednesday domestic disturbance call now faces multiple assault and weapons charges, according to court records. Investigators say he picked up a pistol near a creek and advanced toward officers before one officer fired; state authorities are reviewing the shooting and the officer is on administrative status.
