NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS – National and Sunset Intersection and Trail and East Downing Street Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Project (sgfcitizen.org) — Contractors and residents should know that Springfield is seeking bids for major improvements at the National and Sunset intersection, including new stormwater work, a trail along Sunset to Fremont, and replacement of a sanitary sewer line. Combined with $10 million already budgeted for pole replacement and tree trimming this year, the upgrades aim to cut outage frequency and speed up repair times for Springfield customers.
   

3. Leigh's Lost and Found success story: a Corgi lost for three months is back home! (ky3.com) — A Springfield family is celebrating after their Corgi, Lexi, was found safe three months after going missing during a trip to Arkansas. The owners, who live in Springfield, describe the emotional search and reunion, and encourage neighbors to keep hope and use the Leigh's Lost and Found Facebook page to help bring more local pets home.
   

4. Carthage father charged with felonies after 8-year-old flown to Springfield with severe burns (blogspot.com) — An 8-year-old Carthage child with severe burns was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, where doctors are treating extensive injuries after a fire at home. The child's father now faces multiple felony child endangerment charges, with investigators citing unsafe access to lighters and butane, poor living conditions, and a delay in calling 911.
