• Warrenton alderman appointment delayed again (warrencountyrecord.com) — Warrenton’s Ward 1 alderman seat remains unfilled after a June 2 special meeting ended without action because Mayor Eric Schleuter, the only official who can nominate a candidate, was absent. Two contenders, longtime alderman Jack Crump and resident Frank Cusumano, have already pitched their qualifications as the city works to resolve the vacancy created when April’s election winner died before taking office.
