⢠Bill addresses abandoned landfill funding, oversight (kbia.org) ā A Missouri bill from Sen. Ben Brown of Washington aims to create steady state funding and stronger oversight to clean up 29 abandoned landfills, after a constituent unknowingly bought contaminated property. The proposal would redirect about $1 million a year from the Department of Natural Resources and require sellers to disclose if land contains an abandoned landfill, potentially preventing similar surprises for Washington-area property owners.
