• How A Montana Tragedy Turned Into A Nation Wide Movement (catcountry1029.com) — Bozeman is now one of several Montana cities where volunteer "Bar Fairies" quietly leave coffee gift cards on cars parked overnight at bars, rewarding people for not driving drunk. The grassroots effort began after a 2023 DUI death in Columbia Falls and has since spread nationwide, drawing millions of TikTok views. Locals can even sign up online to help expand the project in Bozeman.

• Good Vibrations: Montana State researcher wins NSF grant to study buzz pollination (bozemandailychronicle.com) — A Montana State University mechanical engineer in Bozeman has secured nearly $585,000 from the National Science Foundation to study how bees use vibrations to shake pollen from flowers. Working with high-speed cameras and a custom-built "electrodynamic shaker," the team is mimicking bee buzzes on tomato blossoms to better understand pollen movement. Their long-term goal is to help develop artificial pollination tools that could support agriculture as natural pollinators decline.
