After years of costly deferred maintenance and a new executive home secured at Hauser Mansion, officials say demolition is the most economical option, though no timeline has been set yet. 
• Helena seniors find connection, calm through Holter Museum's expanding healing arts program (ktvh.com) — Helena seniors are finding new friendships and stress relief through the Holter Museum of Art's expanded Healing Arts program at the RMDC Senior Center and YWCA Helena. Backed by a $50,000 grant, the free workshops and art carts give older adults easy access to creative activities that combat isolation, build confidence, and offer a calming break from daily worries.
• Helena tables decision about federal grant program with new immigration strings attached (dailyinterlake.com) — Helena's city commission has postponed a decision on a $53,000 federal Homeland Security grant for security cameras after residents objected to new immigration and anti-DEI conditions attached to the money. With many locals wary of deeper cooperation with ICE, commissioners questioned whether accepting the grant could eventually force Helena police to assist more in federal immigration enforcement.
